The Queen’s Green Canopy is a nationwide initiative to mark the Platinum Jubilee. The project was due to conclude in December – at the close of the Jubilee year, however it has now been extended until the end of March 2023 to allow more people the opportunity to plant trees in honour of Her Majesty.

As part of this endeavour, The Yorkshire Arboretum is seeking contributions towards an appeal to enable us to plant a good number of new trees in the arboretum this winter. In particular, we are planning new planting around the Peter Sowerby Building and car park, blending this area into the arboretum landscape beyond.
Our target of £10,000, will enable us to plant, protect and maintain trees in this area, creating a grove that will be part of this very special legacy. Donors contributing £200 or more will be invited to come to assist the planting, and for £500 or more you can dedicate the tree to someone as part of our tree sponsorship scheme.
Please help us achieve this target if you can.
