Watercolour Workshop - Coast & Moor

  • Yorkshire Arboretum Unnamed Road YO60 7BY (map)

Watercolour Workshop with Ione Harrison - £90 per person, includes lunch.

Booking essential by either email info@yorkshirearboretum.org or telephone 01653 648598. Please state dietary requirements and allergens.

This workshop is suitable for you whether you have some experience of watercolour and would like to explore new techniques, or a beginner. Minimal drawing included! After a time to explore and have a play with colour and techniques, you’ll be guided step by step to create two paintings to take home with you: an atmospheric seascape based on the coastal village of Robin Hood's Bay; an atmospheric landscape based on Roseberry Topping.

You'll explore some fantastic and fun techniques (cling film, wax resist, masking fluid and spatter) as well as practising more traditional washes and wet on wet painting. The emphasis of the workshop is very much on play and experimentation.

All materials are provided and included in the price so you just need to bring yourself - an apron and something to take your lovely painting(s) home with you would also be useful.

Your tutor for the workshop is Ione - an landscape artist and tutor with over 30 years' teaching experience. Her aim in her teaching is twofold: for you to feel supported to develop confidence and skill in using the wonderful medium of watercolour; for you to have fun and spend an enjoyable time playing with colour (and water) in a non-judgemental environment
