Watercolour Workshop

  • Yorkshire Arboretum Unnamed Road YO60 7BY (map)

Theme: Spring Woods, with Ione Harrison

£90 pp-includes lunch.

This full day workshop is suitable for you whether you have
some experience of watercolour and would like to explore new
techniques, or are a total beginner. Minimal drawing required! The
emphasis of the workshop is very much on play and experimentation.
A time to explore and have a play with colour and techniques, you’ll
be guided step by step to create two atmospheric paintings based on the
wonderful Camassias that form a spectacular carpet of blue in the Arboretum in May. You will explore some fantastic and fun techniques (cling film, salt and spatter) as well as practising more traditional washes and wet on wet painting.

All materials are provided and included in the price so you
just need to bring yourself; an apron and something to take your lovely
painting(s) home with you would also be useful.

Ione is a landscape artist and tutor with over 30 years'
teaching experience. Her aim in her teaching is twofold: for you to feel
supported to develop confidence and skill in using the wonderful medium
of watercolour; for you to have fun and spend an enjoyable, restorative
time playing with colour.

Booking essential via email at info@yorkshirearboretum.org or contact us on 01653 648598.
