Garden Talks: Prof. James Hitchmough

  • Yorkshire Arboretum Unnamed Road YO60 7BY (map)

James has recently retired from his post of Professor of Horticultural Ecology at the University of Sheffield, where he has specialised in the ecology, design and management of herbaceous vegetation, doing much to revolutionise garden planting. Perhaps his best known work is the landscaping in the 2012 Olympic Park, but he has created gardens around the world using his principles of ecological appropriateness to create sustainable, long-term plantings.
