Poetry Reading Evening

Join Bernie Cullen, along with published poets, Carole Bromley and Mark Pajak for a summer evening reading poems inspired by nature and the arboretum. All the poets are generously giving their time for free for this fundraising event in aid of the Yorkshire Arboretum.

About Bernie - Bernie Cullen is our Poet in Residence who is kindly organising this event to raise funds for the arboretum. She is volunteering at the arboretum while completing an MA in creative writing and working towards her first pamphlet.   

About Carole -  Carole Bromley has twice been a winner in the Poetry Business Book and Pamphlet Competition. Her second full collection, The Stonegate Devil, was published in October 2015. She has also won a number of first prizes including the Bridport, Yorkshire Open, Torbay and Brontë Society. She is The Poetry Society Stanza rep for York and also runs Poetry Surgeries on behalf of The Poetry Society

About Mark - Mark Pajak is the 2016 Apprentice Poet in Residence at the Ilkley Literature Festival.  His work has been published in The North, Magma and The Rialto, been shortlisted for the Bridport Prize, highly commended in the Buzzwords Cheltenham Poetry Competition and The Poetry Society’s National Poetry Competition. His first pamphlet Spitting Distance has been selected as a Laureate’s Choice and will be published with smith|doorstop in late 2016.
